These are amazing drawings How do you get so good at it ? I've been trying to improve on my drawings but somehow they aren't getting anywhere and i'm trying to do the basic's first. I was wondering if you had any tips for me to help me improve ?
well, essentially I've just been drawing for many years. (25 years for fun, 6 years professionally)Hm...researching in Stock and Resources category for tutorials is a good start, but since I have no idea what level of art you are I can't really help you. I recently read an article/journal that sums up a lot of useful advice though. perhaps this will help you: [link]
Wow! NONE of these were inked! Hey...I know you might be too busy to even see this but...I REALLY need some help! I want my sketches to look like yours...but they look all grainy and ugly. (Example: [link]) What do you do to the levels and such to make these look like that? ;3;
Also..what pencil do you use? I use a 0.5 mechanical pencil so...is that part of the problem?
I would just like someone to tell me how I can get my sketches to look like this. I would like to upload some traditional sketch dumps instead of digital but I can't because I'm embarrassed at the quality that I put out. D:
well it's pretty easy, I have a few videos on my youtube where you can see what technique I use to draw. [link] I normally use multiple leads, and fix things with levels and the dodge tool in photoshop once it's scanned. the rest is about working carefully I guess! hope it helps.
I hope that you know you are a very lucky person. You have wonderful talents that you can build into a career, a hobby, anything you want. You have people who you love, and people who love you immensely. You inspire thousands of people everyday with your art, and even something as simple as a graphite sketch can make a person want to strive for that same power and skill of creation. You are an extremely lucky person, and a marvelous human soul, and I want you to realize that every day, and never take it for granted. I know I may seem strange, telling you this, when I've only been in the world for less than a decade and a half, just a stranger through the internet. You might think I'm being creepy, since you've never even heard of me, seen me, ever. I assure you that this will be the first and last time you hear from me. But I hope you realize and embrace you and your power to create, to breathe ideas and inspiration into the world. You and the pencil, brush, tablet pen, whatever it is that you hold in your hand, you are a powerful, lucky person. You have skill, and you have the life to achieve whatever you want in this single wonderful life of yours. Thank you for listening to the ramblings of a silly girl. Cherish what you have alright? Do it for those you love, and the people who love you and what you do. Thank you, and I'm sorry for the oddness. Thanks.
Hi there J-yeti, thank you for such a long and sweet comment, I don't think you're being creepy at all. I do feel intensely lucky, especially receiving such words from strangers on the internet. My past 5 years have been very hard, financially and artistically, and reading this comment makes me happy because it allows me to stop for a moment, and realise, I haven't done so bad. Things do change as times go by though. I started out admiring so many DA artists here (still do!), but now I get a lot of teens talking to me as the person they admire. it touches me deeply, as cheesy as it sounds. I love my work and life, and I hope I will never take any of this for granted.
