hey guys,

just giving you the heads up that my PC died yesterday morning and won't start up. (after a day and a half of tech support/tinkering, it's likely the motherboard is fried)
I am now on my emergency laptop, but it's quite slow and there's still going to be some delays for all those who bought stuff from my yard sale recently. :C Sorry!
Hopefully I will be able to get a new PC by next week, but we shall see.
Just wanted to give a heads up. u 3u;

Since a new PC is very costly, I may do some sketch commissions soon, but I have to get the yard sale orders out of the way first.
I'll keep you updated!

You and me both, Zombie! I just got my new computer after my old POS computer died 2 weeks ago - and the cause of death was very likely the CPU or Motherboard. *SIGH*

Keep up the fantastic work! ^_^

So your PC didn't actually explode... is it wrong for me to say I'm kind of disappointed?

Aieee, that really blows. I hate technology because of how fail-happy it can be. One day it'll be fine. The next day, poof. Bricked. x_x
If you do open commissions and I catch you early, I'll try to be the first in line! Yay! :hug: I'd be more than happy to help you out. ^^

Did they have you remove both ram sticks and put them back in? This is a common problem I saw, it's called re-seating. The more likely issue if not the ram would actually be the power supply. The reality of the motherboard actually failing is EXTRAORDINARILY small. Most motherboards has a failure rate of 1-5% over the course of 3 years. Some of the better motherboards have a failure rates of under 1%, some going down to .08%. HP motherboards a few years back had a horrible history though of over 29%. It had something to do with a defective chipset offered by nvidia. Seriously! It's likely not the motherboard. Power Supply and Ram re-seat or replacement may be necessary!

OH! Make sure, if this is a laptop, to pull the battery out and disconnect the power supply when removing the ram! If you do not, it may not clear the error or you could damage the ram.
